2023 IKA AOY | RYAN PLATT

Ryan Platt was clutch all season and his consistency paid off in a big way as he captured the 2023 IKA Angler Of The Year Title!

A dominant year could be an understatement in the story of Ryan Platt's 2023 Season. Not only was this angler phenomenal in other series and events, but he also owned the leaderboards in the 2023 IKA Season.

Ryan kicked off the season with a Win on the Tippy, setting the tone for the remainder of his year. He then went on to grab a couple top-10 finishes at the Tri-Lakes and Raccoon Lake events.

Going into the final two events, Ryan was on top of the AOY race but 2020 IKA Champion Drew Duncan was right behind him with a win and a top 3 finish of his own. Both anglers were super hungry for the title and Dugger was their next challenge. Ryan left no stone unturned in that event, putting together an impressive performance & winning his 2nd event of the season.

Both Platt & Duncan stumbled a bit in the final event of the regular season. Neither angler cracked the top ten or improved the AOY score, which meant the two would have to settle this battle at the 2023 Championship.

Both anglers put together a solid day one at the championship but Ryan pulled away on day two, finishing 3rd in the Championship and sealing the deal on the 2023 AOY Title!

Ryan Platt ended the year with a total of 391 points for his best 3 regular season events, plus the championship. His closest challenger was Drew Duncan with 380 points.

Ryan is now qualified for the 2024 HKB State Championship, which is set to take place this coming spring.

In addition to the State Championship qualification and the coveted IKA AOY title, Ryan took home an awesome sponsor prize pack including a custom-colored NuCanoe Frontier 10 Kayak, a 60AH Dakota Lithium battery, and a custom Ketch X Board.

Congratulations once again to the 2023 IKA ANGLER OF THE YEAR - RYAN PLATT!
